Language learning is a crucial component of Lexia programs, and in non-English-speaking sites, all students take an intensive language course. The course is offered at beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels; students who have studied the host country's language previously will be tested after arrival abroad and placed appropriately. Language is taught in small classes by faculty associated with the Lexia program at the local affiliated university or specialized language institution.
